#18 Camera
The #18 is one version of the 808 car keys micro camera.
It takes 720p 1280x720 AVI H.264 video. The #18 is an updated #11 and both
are
from the same producer.
Visit
Tom Frank's RCGroups #18 forum for all the latest information. There is a lot of confusion about the naming of this camera. The manufacturer named it the "#18", not me. The manufacturer is also calling it the "#11 updated". |

All #18 videos
are non-compliant AVI and GSpot reports a
container error. The videos play OK and random access OK
in Windows 7, Windows Media player. They play but show "missing keyframe artifacts"
when random accessed in some video players..
They can't be imported into some video editors like TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress
and Vegas Movie Studio 9. Sample videos, re-encoded ● http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdnxOeIntH0 Indoor but bright light (mall) ● http://youtu.be/9wdJlaTpzmQ Vehicle in outdoor light. The audio distortion is probably from low frequency audio overload, common in vehicles. ● http://youtu.be/Y3B6ayjqntU Vehicle in outdoor night light. Sample videos, not re-encoded, in C18 folder of the vault (some are very large files) ● PTDC0009.AVI - 28,949,528 bytes, 31 seconds. Indoor dim light. 10% missing frame rate. ● PTDC0768.AVI - 59,607,960 bytes, 38 seconds. Outdoor light. No missing frames. ● 808 #18 HD 720p car keychain camera with AV- out by gadgets2u.net.AVI - 44,784,904 bytes, 48 seconds. Outdoor light. No missing frames. |

The manufacturer / sellers of this "#18" camera (hxelepro360 ,
beetleonline) have been in email contact with me. eBay seller beetleonline has removed the "#18" from the description, but it is still in the eBay listing. They claim it to be the "808#11 successor" or "upgrades #11" and are calling it the #18. Here the 808 is called the #18 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=110843274890 Here the 808 is not called the #18 http://www.ebay.com/itm/320863596032 |

120317 - I was
not involved in enumerating this camera the #18. eBay seller hxelepro360 claims to be "the original 808 #11 developer, not the same developer as 808 #16". hxelepro360 claims to have a new 808 720p camera they call the "#18 keychain camera". I did not receive a link to the camera from hxelepro360, but here is a link to a camera that eBay seller beetleonline calls the "#18 Newest HD DVR KeyChain Camera Looping record AV-out H.264 AVI External power" from eBay seller beetleonline http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110843274890 SAMPLE VIDEO - eBay seller beetleonline provided a #18 video sample taken in outdoor light. C18/PTDC0009.AVI. It is in the vault. (28,949,528 bytes). The missing frame rate of this sample is about 18%. Most good 808 camera have a missing frame rate of 10% or less. The #11 and #16 720p cameras have close to zero missing frames. From the sellers description (not verified) I interpret that the camera can output composite video from existing AVI and JPG files. It can't record video and output composite video at the same time. It can't output composite video in real-time. It does have a USB webcam mode. GSpot reports this container error: Bad chunk in frame data: Invalid length, · Chunk: /RIFF:AVI /LIST:movi, · Offset: 0x00198000, · Value:0x62773130, AVI v1.0, Video: 24.1 MB (87.36%), Audio: 937 KB (3.32%), AVI Overhead: 2.57 MB (9.32%) Here is the KMPlayer file information for the sample video: |
